How Ozempic Works

Seek immediate medical attention if you notice:

  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or trouble breathing.

  • Signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), including severe, persistent pain in the upper stomach spreading to the back.

  • Symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) such as sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a fast heartbeat, especially if you are also taking insulin or a sulfonylurea.

  • A lump or swelling in the neck, trouble swallowing, or a hoarse voice, which may be a sign of a thyroid tumor.

  • Ozempic is a prescription-only medicine. A valid prescription from a doctor is required to obtain this medication.
