Uses of Combodart

Combodart is prescribed to:

• Relieve symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as weak urine flow, frequent urination (especially at night), and difficulty starting urination

• Reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for prostate surgery

• Improve overall urinary function and comfort

How Combodart Works

Combodart contains two active ingredients:

• Dutasteride: This is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It works by blocking the production of a hormone called DHT, which causes the prostate gland to enlarge. By lowering DHT levels, dutasteride helps to shrink the prostate over time.
  

• Tamsulosin: This is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, which makes it easier to urinate and improves urine flow.
  

The combination of these two ingredients addresses both the cause and the symptoms of BPH, providing more effective relief than either medication alone

Common Side Effects

Patients may experience:

• Reduced sexual drive or difficulty with ejaculation

• Dizziness, especially when standing up quickly

• Breast tenderness or enlargement

• Runny nose

• Rare but serious: painful or prolonged erections (seek medical attention immediately)

Serious Side Effects

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat.

• Severe dizziness or fainting.

• Chest pain.

• Depressed mood or suicidal thoughts.
  

Precautions

• Not for use by women or children

• Should be taken once daily, preferably after the same meal each day

• Avoid handling broken capsules, especially if pregnant

• Inform your doctor if you have liver problems or low blood pressure
